MHB Parametric Statistics: Overview, Knowledge & Challenges

Click For Summary
Parametric statistics involves statistical techniques that assume a specific distribution for the data, typically normal distribution. A solid understanding of probability theory and statistical inference is essential for mastering parametric statistics. The difficulty level can vary based on prior knowledge and experience with statistical concepts and programming in R. When choosing between parametric statistics and stochastic processes, consider your interest in data distribution versus random processes. Overall, familiarity with R programming is crucial for effective application in parametric statistics.

Hello! (Wave)

What is Parametric Statistics about? (Thinking)

What knowledge is required? Is it difficult? (Worried)

Would you suggest me to take Parametric Statistics or Stochastic Processes?

In Parametric Statistics, the programming language R will be used..

Have you heard about it ?

The standard _A " operator" maps a Null Hypothesis Ho into a decision set { Do not reject:=1 and reject :=0}. In this sense ( HA)_A , makes no sense. Since H0, HA aren't exhaustive, can we find an alternative operator, _A' , so that ( H_A)_A' makes sense? Isn't Pearson Neyman related to this? Hope I'm making sense. Edit: I was motivated by a superficial similarity of the idea with double transposition of matrices M, with ## (M^{T})^{T}=M##, and just wanted to see if it made sense to talk...
