Many threads specifically about photography subjects are dispersed over the general discussion area and the subject "photo's" seems to the flourish, regarding the recurring necropostings in the general photography thread, wild life photo's, the great outdoors, etc.

So maybe it is feasible to create a photography subforum and move all picture-related threads including the photo contest, members pictures, kitten picture threads, etc, so everybody knows where to find the pictures.

The problem is I really don't want to add any more forums to GD. I already had to unintentionally hide the chess forum in brain teasers :frown:

Fair enough, I guess it's balancing priorities.

I can add links to them in the GD Classics thread, except that the individual photo contest threads are too numerous.

That would be great Evo.

Obviously the benifit of a subforum would also have been that photo contests and polls don't drop to page two in a day or so and need to be bumped frequently to keep things going.

Yes, but there just isn't enough space. The Photo Contest has a sticky and it lists the weekly winners with links back to the competitions. But I agree that the threads themselves fall off the page.

I tag the threads I like to post in, such as the food and gardening thread so I can find them.

Excellent idea, I'll use the sticky to link to the current contest and current poll
