This is such a scary song. In fact, the entire "the wall" album is very scary.

Hey You is definitely a creepy song. Although I also find On the Run to be a little spooky as well.

EDIT:

Yeah, so I meant to say that Brain Damage is creepy, not On the Run.

Right Freeze, but it's all about what's movin' your mojo right now. That's why these threads are cool. (Dirac's mojo face )

Back when the albums came out, we did concerts from our dorm room or the dorm balcony.

Equipment:

Phillips turntable (Harman/Kardon receiver optional)
Phase Linear Pre-Amp (we used to put ice cubes on the preamp)
Phase Linear Amp
Eight 100W Advent Speakers stacked in Quad.

The room was about 10 x 14 ft.

From the balcony, one could hear the music 2+ miles away. The dorm room was loud.

I'm fairly certain that 99% of my hearing loss can be blamed on Pink Floyd and my Carver M1.5.

"The Wall" specifically. It was the most musically complex, and the pinnacle of their creations, IMHO.

I'm surprised there are no pictures of my ears bleeding.

Wish You Were Here is my favorite simply because it has Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

I don't think I'd heard of Syd Barrett until a few years ago, as unless the band's name included the names of the members, I seldom had a clue who was singing or playing which instrument.

But that is a good song. Syd must have been a special kind of being.

I had a long time musician coworker pass away last year. His name was Sid. One of the neatest people in the world. My boss, 30 years my junior, had his pictures on his desktop for at least a year.

Crazy Diamonds...

Great to see so many Pink Floyd lovers here! I think my fav record (if I had to choose) would be "Wish you were here", but I like most of what they've done.

EDIT: forgot to say that I played in a Pink Floyd cover band for fun when I was younger (I played keyboards). We played the entire The Wall + some stuff from Dark Side and Wish You Were Here. I think my fav part to play was Nobody Home, it's a nice piano piece, I think. And I still remember Vera Lynn;
