SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on using the VISED version of MCNP software to plot multiple tally curves on the same graph. Users can modify parameters in the materials section of the input file and then reread the tally to visualize different curves together. The participant seeks clarity on the process of updating input files and creating gamma/X-ray sources within VISED. The consensus emphasizes that understanding the input file modifications is crucial for effective simulation and visualization.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with MCNP software, specifically VISED version.
  • Understanding of input file structures and parameters in MCNP.
  • Basic knowledge of tally types and their applications in radiation transport simulations.
  • Experience with graphical representation of data in scientific software.
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the MCNP VISED user manual for detailed instructions on input file modifications.
  • Learn about different tally types available in MCNP and their specific applications.
  • Research techniques for plotting multiple data sets using graphing tools compatible with MCNP outputs.
  • Investigate the process of creating gamma/X-ray sources in MCNP simulations.
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for beginners in radiation transport simulations, specifically those using MCNP and VISED, as well as researchers and practitioners looking to enhance their data visualization skills in scientific software.

Hello, every body, I'm a new gust in this forum , and I have a question to the users of the simulation VISED version of MCNP software.
Can we change some parameters in the materials part of the input file then reread the tally again to plot two different curves together on the same graph, or this couldn't be made directly as I say

I'm beginner in Vised and i want to understand how to create a source gamma / X. For that i think vised is the best tool to see what does it change when i change my imput file but i can't do this change by open Imput File -> Save--Update, How does it work ?
