Hi

I'll be going to Utah State University this summer doing research in coding and communications theory.

I actually have no idea what coding and communications theory entails. Is there any sort of preparation i should do learningwise before i go out there?

I don't want to get there and the program director just says "get to work" and i know nothing.

Communications theory has a lot to do with linear algebra and Fourier analysis. Sorry I can't be more specific! Digesting a basic signals book would be to your advantage.
