Discussion Overview

The discussion focuses on the relationship between horsepower (hp) and kilowatt (kW) output in engines, exploring how to convert between these units of power. The scope includes technical explanations and conversions relevant to engine output and generator output.

Discussion Character

  • Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • One participant requests information on the relationship between horsepower and kilowatt output for engines.
  • Another participant states that 1 brake horsepower (bhp) is equivalent to 0.7457 kW.
  • A different participant provides the conversion that 1 kW equals approximately 1.34 bhp, suggesting that 25 kW is about 33 horsepower.
  • A later reply expresses gratitude for the information provided.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants present different conversion values, indicating that there may be some uncertainty or variation in the conversions discussed. No consensus is reached on a single conversion factor.

Contextual Notes

The discussion does not clarify the assumptions behind the conversions or the context in which these units are applied, such as specific engine types or conditions.

1bhp = 0.7457kW.

And conversely 1 Kw=1.34 brake horse power (bhp)

so 25 Kw=about 33 horsepower.

litup : thanks for yr. reply
