Searching for unaswered threads

The advanced search interface allows users to filter threads by the number of replies, which can help in identifying answered threads by setting a minimum of one reply. For those specifically seeking unanswered threads, users can keep the reply count at zero and sort results by the number of replies to prioritize unanswered discussions. Currently, there is no option to set a maximum number of replies to exclusively display unanswered threads. Confusion arises from the dual focus on unanswered and answered threads in the discussion. Overall, the advanced search features provide flexibility, but limitations exist in isolating unanswered threads specifically.

Can the advanced search interface be used to search for answered threads. (I know there is display of some unanswered threads on the forum pages and in advanced search there a way to search for threads with the most replies. )

I don't know whether I fully understand what you are asking. In the advanced search page, there is an option "Minimum number of replies". If you want only answered threads, you can increase this to 1. On the other hand, for unanswered threads, you can keep the number as it is, but when the results are displayed, you can sort them by number of replies in ascending order. That will bring up the unanswered threads to the top.

As of now, there is no "Maximum number of replies" option which can bring up only unanswered threads.

You can check the "Display results as threads" option at the bottom of the page.

The title asks for unanswered threads, the post asks for answered threads, now I'm confused.

Hello everyone, I recently revisited Physics Forums after a long hiatus (about 4-5 years) and started catching up on the recent discussions. What immediately struck me—and what inspired this thread—is seeing so many of the exact same user names in the "Latest Posts" section who were just as active when I was last here! To the dedicated, long-term, and continuously active members of this community: What keeps you coming back and contributing regularly after all this time? Is it the joy...
