Is there something new about this version that I'm not seeing? Maps of the galaxy that try to make some coherent sense of Star Wars' not terribly consistent astrography have been around for donkey's years haven't they?

Don't know. Possibly. I never got into the Extended Universe, so I am only familiar with the films. This is the first I've seen of a map.

After a quick google, according to Nerdist it's an update of the 2009 Star Wars Essential Atlas version (which you can easily find online) with a load of stuff that's been published since then.
