Well this is my situation. I'm a senior in HS. And this year I took ...

Adv. Biology
Physics
AP calculus
Economics
Humanitites

The only easy class I have this year is Economics. I had a 4.0 at the end of last year. And this year already in the first marking period I dropped to a 3.6667. I just don't have time to do the extra studying with Cross Country and Track everyday after school. I was wondering if you guys really wouldn't mind if I asked questions from time to time ? I got a B+ in physics ... and I really want an A. So if you guys could I'd appreciate it ...
Um, o and in return I can make web graphics like sigs and stuff for people ... if you want ?

Well this is just my I'm new thread ...
Hows everyone ? Introduce yourself ...

My names Jibran. 17 years old ... Ypsi Michigan.

Welcome to the forums, Jibran. Of course we do not mind if you ask questions now and then! If your question is relating to homework, then you may find ourHomework Forums particularly useful; there are plenty of knowlegable people who frequent those forums who will be happy to help you out. You may also want to take a look at some of the specialised forums for more detailed discussions on different topics of science. Or, you may want to hang around here in general discussion for, well, discussions on just about anything. However, if you choose the latter, I'll give you one piece of advice... get ready to duck!

latter ? What would that be specifically ?

Welcome scjibran! As Cristo says, you'll probably find our homework help forums pretty useful. There are lots of people in the homework help forums who are ready to help you as much as possible. (Remember to show your work!) Welcome to PF and enjoy your stay!

All new PF members that post in General Discussion are initiated by getting whacked by a fish (don't ask)

<WHAM!>

You have now been officially fishwhacked. Welcome to the forum.

 I hope that was a good fish. Evo's been known to use the rotten fish on the high school students who don't know any better yet.

As others have pointed out, the Homework forums are there just for people like you. Be patient, it all runs on a volunteer basis. You may need to have a lengthy discussion back and forth to show you're using the suggestions of the helpers and trying and thinking to the next step, etc.

My personal bias is that academics come before extracurricular activities, so if you don't have time for both, you may want to consider dropping track unless you're really dependent on doing well in that to get a scholarship to college (though, if you keep your grades up, you'd be more likely to get an academic scholarship).

If you have Bio questions, those go in the "other sciences" homework help section. We don't get too many of them, so you might want to drop me a private message with a heads-up if you have a question sitting there (our other two mentors with expertise in biology are pretty busy with their Ph.D. projects right now).

I don't know anybetter ... =[

And yea I see what you mean.

I can't drop Track. I mean, its my senior yr, and it really reduces stress and stuff. And Like I don't know, There isn't anyway I can drop it. And yea, I'm being looked at by schools currenlty. Actually I might run in college Opens as unnatched.

Bio. I'm pretty solid. Its just that physics is tough for me ...

Ohh a fellow Michigander! Welcome, hope Evo used a Great Lakes Trout.

  • #15
Probably a lamprey - they are easier to find than trout, since they sucked all the trout dry...
