Study Resources for my Classical Fields Theory exam

AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around a student seeking resources for exam preparation in Classical Field Theory, covering topics like relativity, Poincaré and Lorentz groups, tensor algebra, and Lie algebras. They request practice questions and textbook recommendations. A participant suggests conducting a Google search for practice exams, which the student acknowledges but initially hadn't tried. After taking the exam, the student expresses curiosity about feedback, while another participant humorously responds with confusion. Overall, the thread highlights the importance of online resources for academic preparation in advanced physics topics.

Hi, I'm currently taking a class in Classical Field Theory. We've covered topics such as relativity, Poincaré and Lorentz groups, tensor algebra and calculus, as well as Lie algebras and groups.

I would like to review for my exam and was wondering if anyone has practice questions or past exams on these topics? Recommendations for textbooks or resources would also be really helpful!

Thanks !

I did a Google search on Classical Field Theory practice exams and got lots of good hits. Have you tried looking through the results of that search?

No 😅, but I revised, thanks!
I did my exam today, what do you think?

I graduated with a BSc in Physics in 2020. Since there were limited opportunities in my country (mostly teaching), I decided to improve my programming skills and began working in IT, first as a software engineer and later as a quality assurance engineer, where I’ve now spent about 3 years. While this career path has provided financial stability, I’ve realized that my excitement and passion aren’t really there, unlike what I felt when studying or doing research in physics. Working in IT...
I have a specialization in condensed matter physics and materials physics, and off-late, I have been seeing a lot of research directions moving towards quantum computing (AMO and non-linear optics) and the huge chunk of quantum materials research (and funding) is dedicated towards QIS and QC research. I am wondering (sort of in a dilemma), if I should consider switching my field? I am currently at the stage of a postdoc.
