Other Switching positions internally, sign on bonus?

Hello all,

Well I work for a company that typically gives a sign on bonus for new hires. However, I'm (hopefully) switching positions internally to a new department. Do you think I should expect a sign on bonus in this scenario?

It's rare that a company will grant a signing bonus for an internal transfer. However, inquiring with your own company is likely to get you a much more definitive and specific-to-your case answer than asking some random people on the internet.
