The discussion revolves around a narcissism quiz from Psych Central, with participants sharing their scores and interpretations of the results. Scores range widely, with many users noting their results fall between 3 and 40. The average score is cited as between 12 and 15, with scores over 20 indicating potential narcissistic personality disorder. Participants express mixed feelings about the quiz, with some finding the questions poorly designed and overly simplistic, often leading to confusion in answering. Many users reflect on their traits, particularly authority and self-sufficiency, and how these relate to their self-perception. The conversation highlights the subjective nature of self-assessment in personality quizzes and the challenges of answering polarized questions accurately. Overall, the thread captures a blend of humor, self-reflection, and critique of the quiz format.

Ha! Awesome. I lead in authority, which makes sense since I'm an Army officer. I'm surprised I didn't get more in the self-sufficient category since I do most things on my own; I must have not liked the wording. And as for vanity, who seriously looks at themselves in the mirror?

I believe such quizzes are 'intelligently' designed to help you choose what you want to hear about yourself.

Interesting. I was an air force engineering officer for 16 years.

And as for vanity, who seriously looks at themselves in the mirror?

I take it you are both male and single?

I thought that having only two polarized choices was ridiculous. I couldn't finish because there were too many questions where choosing either pole would have been inaccurate.

Agreed. Most notably,

"I will be a success"

vs

"I am not too concerned about success"

What if, hypothetically, I'm concerned about success but am unlikely to be successful?

Then you're a dangerous Narcissistic lol.

Unless you're not "too concerned with success.". Polarized personality questions are fine, just sometimes tough to select the more accurate answer.
