Toyota has overtaken GM in first-quarter sales, signaling a potential shift in the automotive market as Toyota positions itself to become the world's largest automaker. The discussion reflects frustration over the decline of U.S. automakers, particularly GM, which attributes its struggles to a drop in SUV sales linked to economic factors. Participants express a strong dislike for SUVs, citing issues such as their size, safety concerns for smaller vehicles, and the inconvenience they pose in everyday situations like drive-thrus. There is a call for stricter regulations on large vehicles, suggesting they should be treated similarly to trucks with speed limits and lane restrictions to enhance safety. The conversation also touches on the need for more family-friendly vehicle options, like station wagons, which have diminished in popularity as SUVs have taken over. Participants advocate for better advertising and pricing strategies for these alternatives to appeal to eco-conscious families. Overall, the thread highlights a growing preference for smaller, more efficient vehicles and a critical view of the current SUV trend.

It reminds me of James Clarkson. When he has to test a car that's so damn ugly, he just crashes it into a tree out of
Do you mean Jeremy Clarkson?

Oops, yeah. Also, I think all the new BMW's look like crap.

I like the 5 series look, but that's it.

The Ford 500 name is being dropped and renamed ...Tarus for 2008.
Ford had dropped the Tarus line just last fall. They need to make up their minds.

Ford management had gotten some weird idea idea that all of their vehicle names had to start with F. Fusion Freestyle Five hundred. It didn't work, their was no name recognition. The Escort is even coming back.

They should have made one named F*****UP if they wanted name recognition.

Cyrus, with your taste in cars, you should have pursued a specialty in cardiovascular surgery or perhaps personal-injury law. Engineers can't afford the cars you lust after. You'll probably have to settle for a restored Datsun 240Z.

Z4 coupes are ****ty, they seem to be an attempt from bmw to make a viper or something, but look even worse...

The 3 5 6 series I like... What BMW are attempting is to take them away from executive type boring looks (Like Audi's) into something more aggressive.

...yes, I was aware of that. I was making a statement on how ugly it is.
Yeah don't worry EEEVVEERRYYYOOONNEEE understood your point
