AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the theoretical possibility of traveling through different universes and the implications of altering historical events, such as changing the outcome of WWII. Many physicists argue that time behaves like an arrow, suggesting that time travel to the past is impossible due to the inability to change its direction. The concept of using strings for inter-universal travel is mentioned, but its feasibility remains uncertain. The conversation highlights the complexities of time travel theories and the challenges associated with altering timelines. Ultimately, the consensus leans towards the idea that such travel may not be possible.

Would there be anyway to theoretically travel through different universes? Let us say you went back in time (if it is possible) and altered history (let us say you somehow stupidly made the Axis powers win in WWII), would there be able to return to the timeline you came back from, maybe by using strings or whatever to travel to the infinite possible universes?

using strings anything is possible !

Not possible

Many physicists believe that time has/is an arrow that points in the direction that we are traveling in now. Since they think this, they also think that is impossible to go back in time at all because we wouldn't be able to change the direction of the arrow. I'm really not sure though if one could use strings to travel to different universes.
