Be very careful about that- an "equation" may 'describe' a straight line but and an equation cannot 'be' a straight line!

ineedhelp23, if you are expected to answer questions like this, then somewhere in your text is a definition of "linear equation". Look it up! There are, in fact, several different ways of defining "linear equation". You will want to use the one in your text!
