AI Thread Summary
Venting a propane fridge in a truck campershell requires careful consideration to ensure safety while driving. The proposed solution involves using flat cookie baking pans with strategically cut holes to manage airflow and prevent propane from leaking into the cabin. Concerns were raised about the legality and safety of such setups, as regulations often mandate that gas appliance tank valves must be closed while in motion. Alternatives include using RV fridges designed for multi-energy sources, which can operate on mains power, gas, or 12 V DC while driving. Proper adherence to safety regulations is crucial to avoid dangerous situations.

Just throwing some ideas togethor if anyone ones to comment!

Setup:
Propane fridge by truck campershell window

Problem:
Needs to vent
Drive on the road at 70 mph without blowing out
Not let propane into the cabin

Solution:
Several completely flat cookie baking pans with holes size of a pencil cut into them, offset holes from one pan to another of course to slow the air down because it has to change direction, and spacers between the pans maybe 2 quarters thick or thicker?

From the fridge to the campershell so propane won't leak into the camper...those disposable jiffy thick metal turkey roasting trays and

Glue?
Tape?
Caulking?
Something propane leak proof and maybe not permanent

Sounds dangerous and probably illegal. In most places there are Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations in place that prohibit such things. For RVs the regulations state that gas appliance tank valves must be closed when the RV is moving.

Some fridges designed for RV use have triple energy capabilities: mains power, gas, and 12 V DC. The 12 V DC is intended for use while in motion, powered by the towing vehicle.

Thread 'I need a concave mirror with a focal length length of 150 feet'
I need to cut down a 3 year old dead tree from top down so tree causes no damage with small pieces falling. I need a mirror with a focal length of 150 ft. 12" diameter to 36" diameter will work good but I can't think of any easy way to build it. Nothing like this for sale on Ebay. I have a 30" Fresnel lens that I use to burn stumps it works great. Tree service wants $2000.
Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
