You can take Va to be volume of cavity and Di to be density and Vo to be volume of cube and A to be surface area of container and h to be height of liquid column and Vi to be volume of immerser part of cube. Prove if water level will rise or will remain same will decrease when ice melts ?

Homework Equations

weight= buoyant force as cube is floating

Calculate the weight of Vi (the water the ice cube is displacing).
