AI Thread Summary
The Jiangman Underground Observatory (JUNO) in China aims to detect neutrinos and study their oscillations. A key goal is to enhance understanding of neutrinos' properties and their role in fundamental physics. The discussion highlights the significance of neutrinos in addressing the solar neutrino problem, which was resolved through oscillation studies. There is curiosity about whether JUNO will explore the potential effects of neutrinos on Earth's temperature. Overall, JUNO represents a significant advancement in neutrino research and its implications for understanding the universe.

Jiangman underground observatory (JUNO) is a setup at china which is used for detection of neutrino and their oscillation so far as I know. What is the basic goal of making this setup, Are they interested to observe the effect of neutrino on earth i.e neutrino may rise the temp of earth or some thing else please clear if some one know about that ?. Thanks

Neutrinos are part of Nature and physics seeks to predict and explain how Nature behaves. Do some googling of the solar neutrino problem. The problem was solved by studying the way neutrinos oscillate.

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
