Welcome to PF! :smile:

I think you and @DaveE have some things in common.

My laser prof in university used to say, "When it's time to turn on the high-power laser, I ask one of my graduate students to throw the big switch." :wink:

Spoken like a true professor. I wouldn't have let him do anything in my lab. He can watch, from over there by the door...
BTW, big lasers don't explode*; well, hardly ever. I have just a couple of stories, but they were all from stupidity in an R&D setting.

* at least ours didn't.

Welcome to PF.

Welccome :wink:

Hello fellow Physics enthusiasts, I am an aeronautical engineering graduate (Bachelor's) who is interested in Physics and Mathematics, and I have been re-learning all the basics. I wanted to join a science forum, especially one dedicated to Physics and maths, to apply these subjects to my engineering studies. I hope to learn a lot through this forum. Thank you for your warm welcome.
