What is the difference between area and corona in impulse testing machines?

In summary, the main difference between area and corona in impulse testing machines is that area testing measures the overall insulation strength of a material, while corona testing specifically looks at the presence of corona discharge. Area testing is used to determine the breakdown voltage of an insulating material, while corona testing is used to identify any weak spots or defects in the material's insulation. While both tests are important in evaluating the quality of insulation, they serve different purposes in the overall evaluation process.

Hi erma, you will need to post in the appropriate forum and give some specifics. If your question is too vague, you may not get any answers.
