Homework Statement
Hi guys, I need help with percentage discrepancy.
Homework Equations
I understand that percentage discrepancy is given by |observed value - measured value| /
measured value x100%
where || is the absolute value.
The Attempt at a Solution
However, one of my observed value is 0.000 and measure value is 0.0008
Although the difference is very small, because of the zero observed value, my percentage discrepancy calculated to be 100%. Is there an assumption in the formula used that the observed value cannot be = to zero?
Or should I keep percentage discrepancy to be 100% in this case?
Thanks for the help.
