What should I do about my son's high school courses in Upstate New York?

Hello,

I primarily signed up for this forum to get advice/help on my 14 year-old son's high school career. He started ninth grade this month and I have questions concerning his courses and his desire to change from Earth science to chemistry. I just posted a thread and am looking forward to getting some advice. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I'm just a physics enthusiast. I took some first-year courses a long time ago, but I wasn't able to continue, so I don't have a degree. Still, I'm really passionate about the subject and try to keep up with it as much as I can. I mostly study in my (limited) free time, going through books I didn’t get the chance to read when I was younger. Thanks for your attention!
