Homework Statement


A train "A" runs east to west and another train "B" of the same mass runs from west to east at the same speed along the equator."A" presses the track with a force F1 and "B" presses the track with a force F2

Homework Equations


When we view a motion from a rotating frame with constant angular velocity "w" , then a pseudo force = mw2r gets applied on the object in radially outward direction being viewed[where r is the distance of object from the axis].


The Attempt at a Solution


For both the trains . i am getting same value.
> mg - m(we)2R - F1 = (mv2)/R
> mg - m(we)2R - F2 = (mv2)/R
As for both the trains , mg will be toward Earth's center , pseudo force[as we see from frame of earth] radially outward .
But the answer is <a>.
Any guidance :)

Thanks got it now :) And yep using inertial frame gave a quick solution ^.^
