Homework Statement


Okay I've been scouring the internet for an hour now and cannot find the answer for the life of me. Which of these solutions turn purple when NiCl2 is added to it?:

Ammonium hydroxide
Sodium carbonate
Potassium thiocyanate

I can't find any ions in these solutions that would turn purple so I have no idea. Please help me! Thanks.

You can get precipitates or complexes in these solutions. Think what can react with what and check what are colors of possible products.
