SUMMARY

The D'Arsonval/Weston galvanometer movement was not a singular invention but rather a development that occurred over multiple stages, with significant contributions from both Jacques-Arsène D'Arsonval and Edward Weston. Historical analysis indicates that the movement evolved through collaborative advancements rather than a single breakthrough. The discussion highlights the complexity of attributing invention in this context, emphasizing the contributions of various individuals over time.

PREREQUISITES

hey I've been snooping around trying to find out who invented the D'Arsonval/Weston galvanometer movement? I am not able to find it or in other words I am getting different sources from different web?..

so who invented the D'Arsonval/Weston galvanometer movement.?

Having looked at the Wikipedia article, it seems (which is not surprising) that it was not 'invented' but developed in a number of stages. D'Arsonval and Weston were obviously major contributors in their turn.
I don't think it could have been a 'Dyson' style invention. That would be pretty unlikely from the way that History went at that time.
