Why Do We Think the Universe is Flat and How Does it Tie to Inflation?

struggling to tie up Inflationary universe with a flat structure. my 3-dimensional mind intuitive leads to think about Universe as a growing bubble which would be consistent with inflation. seeking an explanation to why we think the universe is flat and how it ties to inflation.
