Why is charge the same on capacitors in series?

Charge is the same if C1 and C2 are in series??help ASAP

Homework Statement

If C1(=6.0uF) and C2(=8.0uF) are in series,,, then Q1and Q2 are the same??

Homework Equations

Could anyone tell me the concepts ?!
Like...

Series...1/Ctotal = 1/C1 + 1/C2
Current is constant
Charge is constant(??)
---------------------------

Parallel... Ctotal = C1 +C2
Voltage is constant...


what else do i need to know??
