When I've been on hiring committees, we always wanted more info on candidates rather than less when trying to pick the top three candidates to invite for interviews. For this reason, I prefer longer CVs with more information rather than less. Sure, we may not make it past page 3 for the bottom half of CVs in the application pool, but narrowing the top 6-10 down to the top 3 required all the information we could get. Those top 6-10 applications would usually get several hours of attention each before a decision was made on who to invite for interviews.
