not very much I know that a tertiary alcohol can not be oxidized into an aldehyde or ketone.

Distillation is probably the way to go but I don't know how to do this using boiling points. This looks like the right way to do it because I was reading stuff about alcohols, aldehydes, ethers, ketones, naming these and then their would be a property section where it would talk about boiling...
