Help with Problem Moments: Calculate Steel Beam Deflection
So x would be where the force is on the beam? So if the force was in the center, and the beam was 50 ft(600in) long, then x = 300in!? F (force)= 6,000lbs E (Modulus of elasticity) = 29,000,000 I (Moment of inertia) = 850 L (length) = 600 in So if I understand this right, then this would...- bbg5000

Structural Engineering - Deflection
What's the L mean?! And the 48? Does the length of the beam have no place in the calculation? So \delta = (PL^3)/(48EI) would be: 6000^3 / 48 x 29,000,000 x 850^4 = 0.000000000297261601 ?- bbg5000

Structural Engineering - Deflection
I'm not sure the formula to use to calculate the deflection of a beam. Here's the information I have got. Steel beam is 50 feet long. There is a 6,000 pound load in the middle(all other loads are disregarded. The modulus of elasticity is 29,000,000 psi. Moment of inertia is 850 inches^4...- bbg5000

High School How do you graph y=3x-2 and identify points on the graph without using a prefix?
So for this x, y chart thing, it'd go something like... [center] | x | y | | 0 | -2| | 2 | 4 | | 4 | 7 | | 5 | 13| And then the second question is kinda like reversing it?? And the / was like and/or type thing. Sorry about that. So either one of those ones could be the one with a...- bbg5000

High School How do you graph y=3x-2 and identify points on the graph without using a prefix?
How do you... Draw the graph of y=3x-2 on the grid. Identify at least two points on the graph by their coordinate pairs. Anybody get that?? It's one of those x,y axis grid thingers. And there's a table under it with 8 columns and 2 rows. Kinda like...- bbg5000

High School Ready Reckoner: What Is It & What Is Its Purpose?
Ready Reckoner?? Does anyone know what a ready reckoner is and what its purpose is?? Mathematically speaking. It asks me a question about this on my work sheet, but nowhere in the textbook nor in the booklets, does it state what the hell this thing is. Thanx- bbg5000

High School Solve the Mystery: What is 9 times 7?
It's like a riddle thinger.. If 9 times 9 is 7 10 times 9 is 9 10 times 8 is 8 8 time 8 is 2 What is 9 times 7 ? It says to "Think mathematically. There is a pattern of calculating involved." Anybody got any idea what this is? What the answer is??- bbg5000
