No way, we have it even better. I'm left handed, so if I'm taking an EM exam, I can do the right hand rule and write with my left hand at the same time! I never have to put down my pencil :cool:
If you plan on studying physics in your spare time to the extent that you have the same knowledge as someone with a BS degree, why not simply enroll in a physics BS program?
It seems that you'd like to get the same credentials (a BS) without putting in the same amount of work (by studying in...
The classes available to you are highly dependent on the university you attend. If you attend a standard 4 year university that offers a physics major, as a physics major you will probably be taking a year of introductory physics, followed by courses in modern physics, classical mechanics...
There is probably a more elegant way of doing it (it wouldn't surprise me if Mathematica has some built in function for this), but this should get you started:
L2 = {};
Do[
If[Li[[i, 2]] <= 1, AppendTo[L2, Li[[i]]]]
,{i, Length[Li]}]
L1 = L2;
Use it as an opportunity to review the problem and think through it again as you are typing it up. I've always rewritten my final answer once I solve the problem. This let's me work on the problem the first time through without worrying about the neatness. When I copy it down neatly so that I...
If you want to do Chem. E. and teach, go for it. As mentioned, more physics will be helpful with this.
You keep saying you don't care what people think, and that you only care about what you want. Why are you hear asking about what other people think? :smile:
Tip: If you left something...
If you think that a few people asking you basic questions (How is your math, which journals do you read, etc.) is discouraging, then you'll need to grow a much, much thicker skin if you want to do science. Twofish's post may seem a bit discouraging, but he's right. Historically, most theories...
Coding bat has some fun beginner - intermediate programming challenges for both java and python, which can be done directly in the browser.
Project Euler also has tons of challenges, although they tend to be more on the intermediate - advanced level.
It's possible. My freshmen year of college, I was not interested in anything, did poorly, and was academically dismissed. I realized that I needed to make some changes and transferred to a community college, where I fell in love with science and math. Two semesters later (after getting good...
Yeah, I'm starting a physics MS program next week, and I began my undergrad in trigonometry. I had math up through an into calculus course in high school, but at the time my priorities were elsewhere and I was not interested in math or physics.
Perhaps slow down a bit?
If you want to learn a physics formula, use it to solve some physics problems. If you want to learn programming syntax, write some programs. Don't simply memorize.
