    Converting Polar to Rectangular

I do it the REALLY long way first to understand the mechanics and then jump to formulas. But, you single handedly answered both my question and my next question which would have been the express route. Now I understand both. Thank you kindly!

Well, 5 = x or your adjacent, no?

    Converting Polar to Rectangular

Thank you kindly for your response. I 'think' I get the mechanics of it but me and the old voyage 200 are at differences about the answer when doing sample problems. Example: let's uses (-2,8),(3,5) as an example. This what I get for AxB when done manually. (3,5),(-2,8) 3^2+5^2=r^2 9+25=r^2...

Converting from polar to rectancular and back again using a TI Voyage 200

I found this but the knucklehead whom posted it used such low resolution on the screen shots that I can't make heads or tails of it. I get syntax errors with (7,-9)>Polar, [7,-9]>Polar, ([7,-9])>Polar or any combination there of. This is what I am looking for, just a working version of it...

can someone point me to a howto on doing this?

Dot product issue. system of equations

I am sooo physics paranoid. I hit the table and freeze because I keep getting it wrong for some reason. A*B=A_x, A_y, A_z= |A_y, A_z|i _____B_x, B_y, B_z |B_y, B_x| I get here, I seem to be on a roll, and then just freeze. :(

Calculate Diameter of Larger Piston Given 500N Force & 10cm^2 Area

Homework Statement A hydraulic lift raises a 3000 kg car when 500 N force is applied to the smaller piston. If the smaller piston has an area of 10 〖cm〗^2, what is the diameter of the larger piston? Homework Equations p_1=p_2 F_1/A_1 =F_2/A_2 A_2=(F_2 A_1)/F_2 A=πr^2 r=d/2...

Dot product issue. system of equations

Homework Statement As illustrated, a ball of mass m_1=0.25 kg and velocity V_(0_1=+5.00 m/s) collides head on with a ball of mass m_2=0.8 kg that is initially at rest. No external forces act on the balls. If the collision is elastic, what are the velocities of the balls after they collide...
