Calculating turns in a primary coil of a transformer
Homework Statement A 100 W transformer (Ns = 1500) has an input voltage of 9.0V and an output current of 0.65 A Homework Equations P = IV Np/Ns = Is/Ip = Vp/Vs The Attempt at a Solution The problem is that I'm not sure what a 100 watt transformer means. Assuming it means that it...- Bobazoide

Thermal Energy problem - Ice placed in water
Homework Statement An ice cube at its freezing point is placed in nested Styrofoam cups which contain 240g of water at 21.5 degrees C. If the final equilibrium temperature when the last trace of ice melts is 15 degrees C, what was the mass of the ice cube? Homework Equations mCΔt = -mCΔt...- Bobazoide

Calculating acceleration on an inclined plane (with friction)
He was using the formula "Fnet = Fapp - Ff (of the 38kg object) - T2" where T2 is tension in the rope that is connecting the two weights, if that helps. I can't really explain much about about it though, since it was the first time I had ever seen it used in my life and he didn't really explain...- Bobazoide

Calculating acceleration on an inclined plane (with friction)
Homework Statement A 38kg block is on a slope that is 50 degrees above the horizon. The box is attached to a 9kg weight that rests on a flat surface (connected to the top of the slope). The coefficient of friction for both surfaces is 0.12. Calculate the acceleration of the system...- Bobazoide
