Graduate Can the Unwrapped Phase Function of a Fourier Transform be Derived?
I am stuck trying to derive the unwrapped phase function of a Fourier Transform. Here is the gist of the derivation. We can express the Fourier Transform in polar form: X(e jω) = |X(ejω)| ejω We can take the ln of both sides, resulting in: ln X(ejω) = ln | X(ejω) | + j θ(ω) Taking the...- Cyrus

Graduate Solve Difference Equation: ΔP = e^P
Good point, it's actually e^(p1 - c_3) Which is a negative exponential, but we can rewrite that as e^p1 / e^c_3 so I left out the denominator since it was a constant value. c_3 is just a constant- Cyrus

Graduate Solve Difference Equation: ΔP = e^P
I have a difference equation which is given as: ΔP = e^P [1] where we can re-write ΔP as: Δ P = P_2 - P_1, where the subscripts indicate two distinct discrete time indices. What I would like to do: is to convert this into a continuous time expression and solve it, if possible. In order...- Cyrus

Can pH levels affect the durability of metal car parts?
Thanks Borek! My theory was that even through you will rinse them off, if its safest to use a pH neutral cleaner, then why not hedge my bet in that direction. If you fail to rinse some of it off, yet the cleaner is pH neutral, you don't have anything to worry about. All things being equal, I... -
Can pH levels affect the durability of metal car parts?
I saw this video on a car cleaning product. In it he talks about the improtance of pH balance and how it effects metals. I'm not a chemist, and it's been a long time since I took undergrad chemistry. You can see he does a little lab experiment with the metals in the various pH cleaning solutions... -
First (?) human powered helicopter flight
They took into consideration the Yuri very carefully. The media did a poor job calling this the first HPH, when it was in fact the first flight of the UMD HPH. The youtube comment quoted is legit. Hopefully they can do some optimization of the drive train and fly again longer later in the year...- Cyrus
