How Do Human Cells Calculate and Utilize ATP?
Biochemistry--Double check my answers please Homework Statement Part 1: 32 kJ/mol of free energy is needed to synthesize ATP from ADP and Pi when all reactants are at standard conditions (1M). In a human hepatocyte (liver cell), concentrations are far less. Calculate the actual free energy...- deenuh20

Figuring Displacement from acceleration
well for the first part of the problem, a=v/t, so i found the velocity by multiplying 2 m/s^2 by 6s and got 12 m/s. from this i got a displacement of 72m after 6 seconds. for the second part, i used the initial velocity of 12 m/s * 2seconds and got a displacement of 24m. This now gives me 96m...- deenuh20

Figuring Displacement from acceleration
thanks but what is "u" a variable for? plus i don't have the time it takes for it to decelerate. i only have the deceleration speed. so pretty much its just the initial velocity and acceleration that i have to work with. am i missing something?- deenuh20

Figuring Displacement from acceleration
Homework Statement A car starts from rest at a stop sign. It accelerates at 2.0 m/s^2 for 6.0 seconds, coasts for 2.0 s, and then slows down at a rate of 1.5 m/s^2 for the next stop sign. How far apart are the stop signs? Homework Equations not sure. The Attempt at a Solution I tried to...- deenuh20

Calculating Distance of Closest Approach in Rutherford's Scattering Experiment
Oops! For some reason, I thought 3.6MeV was 3.6 x 10^3 eV, but its 10^6! However, I tried what you proposed in your first post, and I understand the reasoning...but I'm still not arriving at the correct answer. Here's what I'm doing: Total E= 1/2mv^2 - k(q1)(q2)/r mv^2=2k(q1)(q2)/r...- deenuh20

Calculating Distance of Closest Approach in Rutherford's Scattering Experiment
Homework Statement In Rutherford's scattering experiments, alpha particles (charge = +2e) were fired at a gold foil. Consider an alpha particle, very far from the gold foil, with an initial kinetic energy of 3.6 MeV heading directly for a gold atom (charge +79e). The alpha particle will come...- deenuh20
