Motor Powering Generator Efficiency
What do I look for to determine the efficiency factor to know how many watts I can get out of a generator given a specific known HP sized engine? Example: 12.6 HP gives 9395 Watts from the standard HP to Watts conversion... however on a Markon generator, the spec sheet says that a 12.6 HP...- dingpud

Which is the best book on EMT, Tx lines, Antenna etc
Antennas by Kraus and Electromagnetics by Kraus were two that I used as supplementary text to my main text of Electromagnetics by Griffiths. I preferred Kraus over Griffiths big time.- dingpud

Inverter high cost vs low cost performance difference
I have used a multitude of inverters within the past couple of years. I've experienced the good and the bad. I've found that the higher dollar inverters seem to work better, but don't know why. I used a 2KW Samtec Pure Sine wave inverter to power a 1500 watt load without any issues. I tried...- dingpud

How do you suppose the SkyTug and some of these other Lockheed concepts utilize their Helium? http://snafu-solomon.blogspot.com/2011/06/skunk-works-air-ships.html I would figure that in order to lift that much, what would they do after they unload their equipment?? Compress the Helium?- dingpud

Fiber Optic Interconnects to transfer data
Has anyone use fiber optic interconnects in their computers? I read an article suggesting that this is the way to go to move data really quickly, and it got me interested. My google search's have primarily just resulted in company's trying to sell connectors, etc. etc... Any actual...- dingpud

Reclaim Helium from Weather Balloon
Q_Goest and JoBrag, thank you for the responses. Q-Goest, thank you for suggesting an alternate low pressure tank. That makes sense. Will look into that some more. Yeah, the cost alternative is going to be something that can't be ignored...we'll see. Thanks again...- dingpud

Reclaim Helium from Weather Balloon
Is there a way to reclaim the Helium that I put into a weather balloon? Meaning, I empty out a cylinder of Helium into a weather balloon, and for some reason I want to get it back into the tank (bad weather, missed launch time, MacGyver is on, etc.) and can't launch my balloon. Is there a way...- dingpud
