Undergrad Velocity Vector Transformation from Cartesian to Spherical Coordinates
Nevermind! Looks like I missed a simple mistake in my original formula for s[t]. I did not have a [t] on the z[t] for the theta term. I believe it works now. Although the wikipedia page is still too convoluted to help anyone -

Undergrad Velocity Vector Transformation from Cartesian to Spherical Coordinates
Hi all, I can't find a single thing online that translates a cartesian velocity vector directly to spherical vector coordinate system. If I am given a cartesian point in space with a cartesian vector velocity and I want to convert it straight to spherical coordinates without the extra steps of... -

Graduate How to understand when surface terms go to zero
Ah I see! Thank you! But now I have more questions. How can I tell from integral if something will end up as a surface term and that it goes to zero if there is no such delta term explicitly multiplying?- Ebarval

Graduate How to understand when surface terms go to zero
Hi all, I'm trying to understand when surface terms go to zero. I'm not really getting a connection other than many textbooks just saying surface terms go to zero. I have added a photo of Liboff's Kinetic Theory page 3 on Lagrange's equations. Before equation 1.7, he says the surface terms go...- Ebarval
