Stress for v-band clamp under loading
I have a v-band clamp and I'm wanting to know the stresses for such a section. I'm interested in the forces and resultant stresses on the clamp from the flange and plug (inside the v band) opposing each other as pressure is increased. I thought of treating the section as an effective channel...- formula428

Undergrad Combined Stress of Cable Around Pulley
I'm not concerned about the pulley or bolt/pin that supports it, those are easy checks and I'm plenty good there. My question is how to actually calculate the combined stresses in the cable. What methods are used?- formula428

Undergrad Combined Stress of Cable Around Pulley
I have an application where I'm trying to lift an object by using a pulley and pulling on the cable. We were forced to use a pretty small pulley and thin cable, so my question is how to analyze the total stress of the cable? I should be looking for axial stress, bending stress (cable around...- formula428

Undergrad Flowmeter Impact from Changing Pressure
No, this one unfortunately is calibrated only for 25psi. Any deviation will result in needing a correction factor.- formula428

Undergrad Flowmeter Impact from Changing Pressure
I have an argon piping system. The pressure is set at 50 psi. Assume no pressure drop. I have a flowmeter that is calibrated to run at 25 psi. Basically, I want to know what the "new" scale will be on the flowmeter as a result of the increased pressure (from 25 to 50 psi). In other words...- formula428
