Shelf in a box, treating the shelf as a weak perturbation
Ok I got it, I was just thinking that usually it is given or some form of an operator. but in this case it does just end up up being the above.- Futurestar33

Shelf in a box, treating the shelf as a weak perturbation
Im confused at this then. When there is no shelf the H= ∇^2Ψ=-K^2Ψ where K= √(2mE)/hbar General expression being Ψ= Csin(kx)+Dcos(kx) , k=npi/a When there is a shelf H = ∇^2Ψ = -η^2Ψ where η=√(2mE-Vo)/hbar General expression being Ψ= Ae^(κx)+Be^(-κx). I...- Futurestar33

Shelf in a box, treating the shelf as a weak perturbation
In this problem I am supposed to treat the shelf as a weak perturbation. However it doesn't give us what the perturbed state H' is. At the step V(x) = Vo, but that is all that is given and isn't needed to determine H'. This isn't in a weak magnetic field so I wouldn't you use H'=qEx and then...- Futurestar33

Undergrad Understanding Plasma: Definition, Theory, and Applications
Oh no no Its not difficult to understand I am just writing a paper about something else currently and just thought I would have a conversation about plasma. That is all, I am writing about Magnetic reconnection, and magnetic reconnection is is actually disobeying Alfvens Theorem, in where he...- Futurestar33

Undergrad Understanding Plasma: Definition, Theory, and Applications
I just recently came across a theorem known as Alfven's Theorem, and according to what he said Magnetic Reconnection is a violation of the conservation law of plasma physics. So I am just curious into finding out what plasma actually is, some define it as a ionized gas, but after reading I am...- Futurestar33

Electric engine for car vs Electric Engine for Drone
Hello, I am trying to find out if there are any differences between how the Electric engine for car works vs how an Electric Engine for Drone works. I am sure the both consist of an Ignition coil, stator and rotor. However I have not been able to find the any schematics for a drones electric...- Futurestar33

Anyone studying Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering?
No I know the current state of space technology, I haven't done any research in for space. However don't the equations means that they are possible? I am talking about manned space crafts and deep space probes.- Futurestar33

Anyone studying Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering?
Thank you Very much Djpailo, those books are exactly what I needed. I am especially interested in the design of the space crafts and why they are still the same. Therefore books I will be looking at are Chaos, Space Design, Turbulence and Aerodynamics! I am actually taking my optics course...- Futurestar33

Anyone studying Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering?
Good afternoon, I am just curious about what books you guys use, I am a aspiring physicist with other degrees. I have always had a passion for space and engineering and when I go looking for Aeronautical or Aerospace books I find out that none of them are really math rigorous. Could anyone...- Futurestar33
