Transform a few numbers into one with key
Dear all, Basically I am thinking of a possibility that I could transform several numbers into one using a key, which is reversible by using the same key afterwards, transform the one number back into its original separated form. I am not really good in number theory or cryptography but I...- gheelengooi

Typical Surface Finish of Twist Drill Bit
Thank you AlephZero. It is stainless steel. The hole is a through hole, 5 mm diameter and 10.1 cm for the whole thing. Therefore you can say the depth is 10.1 cm? Since the length/depth of the hole is the length of the stainless steel block. Drill speed unknown. I would have to just give a...- gheelengooi

BO: Calculating Initial Velocity of a Projectile with Horizontal Launch
Dear All, Sorry for being mysterious. I thought the info would be sufficient. Okay here's what I am doing. I wanted to do a sprinkler system for my experiment setup, and I plan to use the FogCo nozzles which would atomize the water particles into mist, so that it would provide water to the...- gheelengooi

BO: Calculating Initial Velocity of a Projectile with Horizontal Launch
Thank you for your reply. There is only one horizontal force acting. It is the only force. You can't say it's constant cause it is applied only once, which is on the projectile itself. Afterwards the only force acting would be the gravity. Thank you very much!- gheelengooi

BO: Calculating Initial Velocity of a Projectile with Horizontal Launch
Dear All, I am figuring out the initial velocity of a projectile in order to do a estimation. I have a horizontal force of F pushing a projectile horizontally (meaning a horizontal launch) from a height H. I assume there is no more force pushing it afterwards. I want to know how far...- gheelengooi

Finding the most 'important' variable
Well urm...I don't quite get you. The flow landslide data are collected from major landslide events in the region I am doing research, which is Hong Kong. They are not empirical data, right?- gheelengooi

Finding the most 'important' variable
Thank you guys! I will finish the analysis in the coming two days. I will try multiple regression with sensitivity analysis and also ANOVA. And as for Danger:- You're right, but not totally. In geotechnical engineering, one can categorize the mechanism, geological formation etc etc but...- gheelengooi

Finding the most 'important' variable
Thanks Studiot! Yeap I already broken them down to landslip, debris flow, landslide etc according to Takahashi's definition. I just want to figure out how to do the analysis- gheelengooi

Finding the most 'important' variable
I am trying to analyze a junk of landslide data (landslide @ different locations) to see which factor has the most effect on landslide, that includes slope angle, rainfall intensity etc etc, which sums up to 7 to 8 of them. I am wondering which kind of analysis I should adapt in order to do...- gheelengooi
