I haven't read much about graphene in a while and have just started skimming through some of the recent links in this thread, but has there been any significant developments in engineering a band gap in graphene? I know GNRs were showing promise at one point.
Graphene transistor channels need to be sub-10nm wide in order to allow a bandgap to open up that's suitable for digital circuitry, which means any real use for graphene (for digital circuitry at least) couldn't happen until 2017 at the earliest. And I don't know how well graphene integrates...
I'm supposed to evaluate where a function is a regular point, essential singularity, or a pole (and of what order) at a specific location.
Problem here.
Evaluated at (where else but) z=1.
I know its not a regular point since it doesn't evaluate to a simple Taylor Series... likewise -- I...
Question: Prove that the list (x^3, sin(x), cos(x)) is linearly independent in V (V being the vector space of real-valued functions. In other words... common everyday math)
They're linearly independent, its pretty obvious. The issue is -- proving rigorously. This is not for an assignment, its...
I'm writing a paper on quantum computing.
First question:
Do entangled qubits, or generally, entangled particles occupy the same Hilbert space?
Thanks.

Colts vs. Ravens :: Ravens. Their defense will be able to hold Manning enough for them to pull this one out.
Patriots vs. Chargers :: Chargers. Gonna be a good game though, and you can never count the Pats out in the playoffs, but still I say Chargers

Assuming that happens...
After reading Jheriko's post and some other help I did something like this
Dim i, iCount As Integer
Dim Text As String
For i = 65 To 90
Text = Text1
Text = UCase(Text1)
iCount = Len(Text) - Len(Char(i))
List1.AddItem Chr(i) & " - " & iCount
Next i
That didn't work and I was not...
Ok, I'm back with another question.
Question:
"Write a program that will allow the user to type in as many words as they want. Your program should then display how many of each letter in the alphabet was typed in. That means how many a's did the person type in, how many b's did the person...
Now, I know VB is hated in a lot of instances and 5.0 is out of date, however it is the only computer programming course offered here. Basically, I'm trying to do an assignment for fun at home - we never have homework (as everyone does not have VB5.0 at home, even though there is the free...
Whoops, thanks. X and Y are tending to (0,0)...
I agree it'd be stupid to use Epsilon-Delta proofs for this, there's already a contradiction evident (lim (x,y)->(0,0) through x=y^2 = 1/2... not 0.) Just was hoping that provided Epsilon-Deltas prove a limit exists, I could find out what an...
Trying to press on through Epsilon-Delta proofs of limits (for more than one variable) and yet there's only one example I've found thus far of even a multi-variable Epsilon-Delta proof.
Would it be possible for someone to solve the Epsilon-Delta proof of the limit:
(xy^2)/(x^2+y^2). Note...
HyperThreading was an attempt to do what dual-core is doing. It was only 'faking' it though, whereas dual-core is the real thing. And, in all honesty, HT never did much. Hell, some Windows applications recommended turning it off!
Basically what Chroot said was correct, and Intel has actual...
