High School Why Does Touching a 9 Volt Battery to Your Tongue Create a Jolt?
Just thinking after a lecture I went to recently about why does it take a little bit of electricity to overload your body's circuits, but if you stick a 9volt battery to your tongue (do not do it LOL) why do you get a jolt but nothing really major happens?- h20h

What Does a 9V Battery Indicate in Electrical Terms?
OK that is confusing to me still...so the 9v battery would be called electric potential. Meaning that the 9v is the amount of of electric potential is has? Can you describe a bit more? I just want to understand the differences between the three and I think I am getting a few things mixed up...- h20h

What Does a 9V Battery Indicate in Electrical Terms?
Homework Statement When I say I have a 9v battery, am I talking about the electric potential, electric potential energy, or the change in electric potential? Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution My first thought was the change in electric potential energy. But then I...- h20h

Undergrad Plates in a CRT and how they become charged
I just am trying come up with a hypothesis regarding the plates in a CRT system? How do they become charged? Looking at when an electron travels between the two plates, say the plates are on the top and bottom and the top plate is positively charged and the bottom is negatively charged, we...- h20h

Choosing the Best Indicator for a Titration of HNO2 with NaOH
We were not giving any molar concentrations. I think its more of a reasoning out problem...but I think it's a very open ended question as I think it is meant to just think about what happens when you have a weak acid and a strong base...we just did a titration lab where we had acetic acid and...- h20h

Choosing the Best Indicator for a Titration of HNO2 with NaOH
I agree where would I start for the equilibrium concentration calculation? I understand by explaining but I want to understand by doing some math to get me to a number...does that make sense? Let me know- h20h

How Much 0.6M HNO3 Is Needed to Neutralize 28.55 mL of 0.45M KOH?
Yes the stoichiometry of the equation is 1:1 so the moles of KOH is equivalent to the moles of HNO3. I must just be plugging something in wrong ? can you tell by what I have written? I know you are getting 21.4 and I am 21.3 but still I want to be right Thanks and let me know- h20h

Choosing the Best Indicator for a Titration of HNO2 with NaOH
the Ka for HN02 is 4.5x10-4 But I am not given any M numbers or anything I am more or less thinking that we have to describe how we would pick the pH indicator? I am a bit lost in terms of where to go: should I come up with a reaction equation: HN02 + NaOH = NO2 + H20 + Na Then I...- h20h

What Is the Molarity of a Sulfuric Acid Solution Neutralized by NaOH?
I am taking Chem 2 in college right now but I HATE word problems I never really know where to start...so using the equation you have above I would just plug in the values that were given and then rearrange to find the missing component? I went from liters of NaOH to moles of NaOH =.006...- h20h

What Is the Molarity of a Sulfuric Acid Solution Neutralized by NaOH?
This is the question: If 20 mL of a 0.3M solution of NaOH is required to neutralize 30.0 mL of a sulfuric acid solution, what is the molarity of the acid solution? I just need to get pointed in the right direction and then just some simple steps from there... Thanks H20h- h20h
