Charge and current, RMS or aritmethic mean?
Great! When you all say it like that it seems really obvious. I was actually thinking that power equivalence could have something to do with it. It’s good to think about these things sometimes...- hadoque

Charge and current, RMS or aritmethic mean?
I'm calculating current through a resistor by measuring a single current pulse, integrating it and multiplying it with its frequency. This would correspond to calculating an arithmetic mean. I also tried calculating RMS of this waveform, using GNU Octave, and was a bit surprised by the...- hadoque

Two port impedance, negative inductance?
OK, I found it, there is something wrong with my conversion between S and Z, causing imaginary part to become opposite polarity.- hadoque

Two port impedance, negative inductance?
Hi I'm doing simulations in preparation for experimental measurements of decoupling capacitor parasitic inductance. I've done simulations of two port measurements, in mentors hyperlynx, of parallel capacitors on small power planes. These have given me s2p files that I've converted to...- hadoque

Voltage step response of impedance frequency response
Well, I am interested in what happens at the very beginning. I want to compare different capacitor systems, not only looking at frequency impedans response, but also transient noise. I basically want to do what Istvan Novak is doing in this paper...- hadoque

Voltage step response of impedance frequency response
Hi I am a bit unsure about terminology and method, so I would like to discuss this with anyone who knows anything about this. I'm examining the properties of a network of parallel capacitors. I have calculated an impedance versus frequency curve, Z(f), using complex impedance of the...- hadoque

Strange impedance curve in LTSpice
Since I posted I've found out just that. The spice models has a non-zero parallel capacitance as default. It's disabled by setting the parallel capacitance to zero.- hadoque

Strange impedance curve in LTSpice
Hi I'm looking at an impedance curve of a non-ideal tantalum capacitor in LTSpice. The test circuit and impedance curve is seen in this screengrab: http://www.apspektakel.com/bilder/tantal.png" The spice file is here http://www.apspektakel.com/bilder/tantal.asc". So, the imdpedance curve...- hadoque

Graduate What Is the Method for Conducting 2D Fourier Analysis of Complex Shapes?
I'm studying for a re-examn in a physical measuring techniques course that includes some Fourier analysis. On old exams there are always a question about a graphical 2d Fourier transform. It can be an ellipse containing a grid of circels, or something like that. In the solutions he takes the... -

Fourier transform of church function
Well, the intergral of a right triangle is just the integral under a straight line function, f(x) = kx+m. If the left bottom corner of the triangle is a, the bottom right is b and the triangle sits on the positive x-axis: f(x) = kx-ka (since x=a when f(x)=0). I transform this to F(s) =...- hadoque

Fourier transform of church function
Fourier transform of "church" function This is an old examn question that I'm trying to solve. There is a solution, but I'm having a hard time getting it since there is only some kind of graphic equation with no explanation. To only test in the solution is "Derivate!" Homework Statement...- hadoque
