Building a Newspaper Boat for Physics Class
Update: I did some prototypes with the kayak shape and they epically failed, so now I am thinking of a square shape. Also, I was thinking about interlacing rolled up newspaper as a strong base for the boat. I'm really hoping this will work because it is during in a little over a week!- hamburgler

Building a Newspaper Boat for Physics Class
I'm going to use the chicken wire as a mold to shape the newspaper and will be removed after the newspaper has dried. We have to propel it by our hands! I really don't know how it's going to work. I was thinking of making oars out of rolled up newspaper, but haha I don't know how well that...- hamburgler

Building a Newspaper Boat for Physics Class
My physics teacher gave us kind of a cool end of the year project: To construct a boat made entirely out of newspaper, masking tape, and shellack (I think this is the proper spelling). The boat will then have to go from end to end in a pool and the first person who does so wins. My idea is...- hamburgler

High School Should I Take Calculus 3 as a Junior in High School?
Yeah that's what I would optimally prefer to do, but I'm afraid that admissions officers reviewing my application will look down upon, wondering why I am taking the course twice.- hamburgler

High School Should I Take Calculus 3 as a Junior in High School?
Um I don't know if this is the right forum to post this but w/e: I'm taking calc BC right now as a junior and my teacher gave me the option to take calc 3 at a college nearby. However, my grasp of calculus is...weak. I think it would look great for college apps, but I fear complete failure...- hamburgler

Undergrad Finding b in a Function with Horizontal Tangent and Point of Inflection
I'm doing a calc BC practice exam and I found this question that stumps me to the max: The function y=x^4+bx^2+8x+1 has a horizontal tangent and a point of inflection for the same value of x. What must be the value of b? I know that points of inflection are found from the second...- hamburgler
