Finding the area under a curve
I'm trying to find the area of some shape with a straight line for the bottom, two curves on the sides and a straight top. Let's say I can only use calculus-like math. I can turn it on it's side and put it on a graph, but now there's now formula for the curved lines. What do I do? Do I split it...- Luke77

Splitting Molecules and Separating the Atoms
I know that you can split, say H2O by using electrolysis. From there the hydrogen atoms would go to the negative electrode (cathode) and the oxygen atoms would go to the positive electrode (anode). But what if you wanted to separate the two even more, such as pulling the hydrogen atoms to one...- Luke77

Quantum physics and quantum mechanics
Hey everyone, I know that quantum mechanics is a sub topic of quantum physics and is the most general also, but I'm having trouble finding an article that is recent, detailed, and accurate. So if you guys could explain the basics and go into detail when you feel necessary. Thanks.- Luke77

High School How Does a Magnetron Heat Your Food in a Microwave Oven?
Hey everyone. I was wondering how a magnetron in a microwave works. I understand it emits microwaves and a fan pushes them in random directions to heat up food. Thanks.- Luke77

High School Heat Pump Basics: How Do They Work?
Hey, I know this is pretty random, but I have a few questions about heat pumps. Does the refrigerant run out or is it circulated over and over again? Also, how does the compressor play into it? I know this is a simple question that will get simple answers, but if anyone knows anything, leave a post.- Luke77
