Determine the angle of incidence
The index of refraction of ice is 1.79. Light is reflected from a smooth ice surface, and the reflected ray is completely polarized. Determine the angle of incidence. Answer in units of degrees. Can anyone help me with a formula to set this one up? I'm confused on where to start.- lw11011

Why Is My Wavelength Calculation Incorrect?
What is the wavelength, k, corresponding to a frequency, w, of 7x10^19 Hz of electromagnetic wave in free space? The speed of light is 2.99792x10^8 m/s. Answer in units of m. I set w/k=c Plugging in (2*pi*7X10^19) for w, and 2.99792x10^8 for c, I got 1.467X10^12. The answer is wrong...- lw11011

Calculating Magnetic Field of a Solenoid: Where Did I Go Wrong?
A solenoid 77.1 cm long has 340 turns and a radius of 1.92 cm. If it carries a current of 1.85 A, find the magnetic field along the axis at its center. Answer in units of T. I know the formula for the magnetic field is: Magnetic field = permeability x turn density x current I entered -...- lw11011

What is the temperature of the bath?
When I use the formula I mentioned above, I get T=785.29 degrees Celsius. I don't know if I solved it incorrectly but I did: 189-54=(54)(0.0034)(T-50) 135=(0.1836)(T-50) 735.29=T-50 T= 785.29- lw11011

What is the temperature of the bath?
I tried to use the equation: p-po = (po)a(T-To) To= reference temperature po= resistivity at that temperature a= temperature coefficient of resistivity So I did: 189-54 = (54)(0.0034)(T-50) But I know the answer I got that way is wrong.- lw11011

What is the temperature of the bath?
At 50 degrees Celsius, the resistance of a segment of gold wire is 54. When the wire is placed in a liquid bath, the resistance increases to 189. The temperature coefficient is 0.0034 (degrees Celsius)^-1 at 20 degrees Celsius. What is the temperature of the bath? Answer in units of degrees...- lw11011
