Anyone know what this is an image of?
I'm in calculus class right now, this is high school so I wouldn't be doing this at university probably, and we're putting our name in the address bar to see what comes up, just for fun. I went to www.scott.com and it shows just a .gif. Anyone know if there's any significance to it?- maphco

Electric Potential Car Battery Problem
Homework Statement A particular 12V car battery can send a total charge of 84 A-h (ampere-hours) through a circuit, from one terminal to the other. (a) How many coulombs of charge does this represent? (b) If this entire charge undergoes a change in electric potential of 12V, how much energy is...- maphco

Solve Trig Equation 20sinx - 4cosx - 13 = 0
20sinx - 4cosx - 13 = 0 : solvable? Is this equation solvable? I've been banging my head on it for the past half hour and don't know how to start. 20sinx - 4cosx - 13 = 0 Also, this started out as a physics question, but seeing as this is just math stuff now I thought I'd put it here. I...- maphco

High School High School Calculus: Differentiation vs. Integration
I'm taking calculus at my high school right now and I'm finding it pretty easy, we've been doing limits and differentiating this first semester and have been doing optimization problems for the past couple weeks. I've heard from my calculus teacher, and other teachers in the school, that taking... -

A question with masses and distance to travel, find the time to travel so far
Homework Statement Jane wishes to quickly scale a slender vine to visit Tarzan in his treetop hut. The vine is known to safely support the combined weight of Tarzan, Jane, and Cheeta. Tarzan has twice the mass of Jane, who has twice the mass of Cheeta. If the vine is 60m long, what minimum...- maphco

How do you differentiate (x-y) using implicit differentiation?
I looked through my notes and couldn't figure out how to differentiate (x - y) using implicit differentiation. Could someone help with that and I should be able to work out the rest of my question :)- maphco
