News Burma Turning to Forced-Labor for Reconstruction
i think direct military action or anything with considerable cost would be used to unseat the junta. there's really nothing to be gained from getting rid of the burmese government, nothing to fear from not getting rid of them. nothing much at least.- misogynisticfeminist

Have you ever experienced lucid dreaming?
happened to me a few times. false awakenings also happened to me helluva times. sometimes 2-3 times. like i dreamt i woke up, then i dreamt that it was fake, and woke up again. stuff like that. its kinda freaky though, if you look back. reality back there when you had the false awakening was...- misogynisticfeminist

Graduate Graviton Spin: What is Moment of Inertia x Angular Frequency?
in short, spin in quantum mechanics cannot be visualized classically. Unfortunately, we have to take it as an abstract mathematical property of any particle, like charge, mass etc.- misogynisticfeminist

Undergrad Derivation of the probability distribution function of a binomial distribution
Is there a way to derive P (X=r) =^nC_r p^r q^{n-r} , r= 0, 1, 2,..., n where X: B(n,p) where n is the total number of bernoulli experiments, p the probability of success q, the probability of failure.- misogynisticfeminist

Parametric Curves: Solving & Approximating
1. I am given a curve defined parametrically by x= 2/t , y=1-2t i have found the equation of tangent at t=-2 to be y=4x+9, they have asked whether it cuts the curve again. how do i find that, since i don't know the original equation of the curve and can't solve them simultaneously. 2. Also...- misogynisticfeminist

Undergrad Showing that the inverse sqaure law is true.
Is there a theoretical way to show that the inverse square law is true for say, just electric fields alone, without referring to any empirical observation?- misogynisticfeminist

Undergrad Things that's accepted but has not been prooved yet
I think haelfix has hit the nail right on the head. Its never possible to prove anything absolutely in science. And i don't think it has anything to do with the logic stuff. I exist, this exist, whatever.- misogynisticfeminist

Undergrad Things that's accepted but has not been prooved yet
I think "accepted" is a very vague word. Yes, dirac (or pauli, i don't know) had neutrinos in from their calculations, but it was met with a healthy dose of skepticism from the community. It was not until experimental evidence came when it became "accepted".- misogynisticfeminist

Extremely discouraged by this one guy
compete with yourself and not other people. If he's not too stuck-up, then learn from him or something, but if he is stuck-up, then screw him. don't worry, as long as you're not doing too badly, and you feel that you're learning something from the course, don't give up ! : )- misogynisticfeminist

Cosmology, Philosophy, and Physics. What should I take first?
I think algebra at the college level deals more with things like rings, groups, stuff like that. Have a good grasp of calculus until calc III, know DEs and linear algebra, and you should be on your way to do fairly basic physics in college. i don't know about cosmology or philosophy but for...- misogynisticfeminist
