Why do emergency detectors use high pitched sounds?
if i remember right the resonant frequency of the human ear canal is around 3khz, so I am guessing that has something to do with it as well.. i know when mastering a music track, its common to dip down the volume in that range.- mister mishka

Music Understanding Music's Irregular Octave Divisions
This is how DJs mix music (harmonic mixing). Each track has its own musical key, and if the next track is a perfect fifth above or below, it will usually fit. The 12 semitones we use is just western music, just think of it as extra "tension" notes you can play around with. If you want it to...- mister mishka

Art My Video Art (fractals, video feedback loops, etc)
Thanks, yeah those video feedback fractals were fun to make. Once things are balanced correctly, you just add (or subtract) light in a certain timing and then the whole video evolves on its own. So it kind of feels like it creates its own life, but usually things always end up in these specific...- mister mishka

Art My Video Art (fractals, video feedback loops, etc)
Hey, I just thought I would share some of my video art. They are meant to be visuals going alongside Techno / House music in the nightclubs of Berlin. However I got a lot of ideas from reading up on physics, like diffraction patterns, fractals, polarization of light / materials, lenses, video...- mister mishka

What causes a person to develop emotional maturity?
Yes well then that makes my point, that there is some distinction between a sociopath and a psychopath. Of course this is not a hard science and there will be varying degrees of each depending on the person, but it will either be mostly caused by genetics or by environmental factors.- mister mishka

What causes a person to develop emotional maturity?
So you are saying that you not only have to be born with it, but also to be in certain environment for a sociopath / psychopath to arise? Of course sometimes it could be both, but are you saying it is always both?- mister mishka

What causes a person to develop emotional maturity?
They are not the same thing, a psychopath does not feel any empathy and is just born like that while a sociopath is created due to physical abuse or emotional trauma (they can still feel empathy). It is a nature vs nuture difference, resulting in different patterns of behaviour. Given your...- mister mishka

High School Light in a cup (Can you explain this phenomenon?)
Thanks! Yeah I have lot more interesting stuff already filmed, but am working on releasing them this fall with music mixes (9 hours of my best stuff, from my 55 hours of footage). However, I will also be making a small selection of content solely for PhysicsForums review, because of the...- mister mishka

High School Light in a cup (Can you explain this phenomenon?)
Yeah it is caustic optics, I play around a lot with this for some of the visual films I create. Check out the film below, I use various reflective materials behind a warped piece of glass, shining various lights and lasers at it from different angles, filmed out of focus to amplify the textures...- mister mishka
