Graduate Does Schrodinger's Cat Paradox Suck?
I would gracefully decline this. Define a dead system. You would see what I mean. Life is chemistry, and when some critical functionalities stop in the brain, we call it brain dead or dead for short. That is the only definition of dead. As a result of micro state change - the macro state of...- nmondal

Undergrad What is the Doppler Shift of Matter?
There are some issues for Doppler Shift on matter waves. The wavelength is given by :- \lambda = \frac{h}{p} where p is the momentum. The phase velocity of the wave is:- v_p = \frac{C^2}{v} where v is the velocity of the particle. The wave is super luminal. There are more fun to it...- nmondal

Graduate Photon Mass: Debunking the Myth of Zero Mass in SR Equation
Photons has momentum! Photons has momentum! Common misconception is that, as it has momentum, it must be having a mass. That is untrue, as we know that any wave has a momentum!- nmondal

Undergrad Probability of Hand Going Through Table?
There is a probability and that too is 100% is that, the Guy who said it is MAAD. People, without appropriate context should not talk like that. In the mean time the picture you drew is a waste, as that shifting never happens in the solids. Any kind of solids. Ok...- nmondal

High School Understanding the Concept of Disorder in Basic Statistics
Position does not makes sense in case of a Gas. It makes sense sometimes in the context of a drunk person. Think it from that perspective. Cheers. BTW, if the box is 1 KM, sir, then again we have certainly more disorder to achieve...remember the diffusion? That is the phenomenon.- nmondal

Is HCl purely covalent or does it have ionic properties in water?
There is nothing called a pure Covalent..compound. Nothing is purely covalent. Only the molecules are. Think of HCl as:-- H-Cl, with Cl having the bonding electron cloud closer to it. In water, the picture is that due to fact that H^+ + Cl^- is of low energy, so it is stable in the...- nmondal

Complex Number Proofs: Solving for z and z^-1 in a Cosine Equation
There are many ways! 1. By POMI: proove it for n = 2, and assume for n=k and show it holds for n=k+1 also. 2. Use z=r*exp[i{theta}]. So, 2cos{theta} = r*exp[i{theta}] + r*exp[-i{theta}] So, we can see that Re[r*exp[i{theta}] + r*exp[-i{theta}]] = 2cos{theta} So, that...- nmondal

How Do You Calculate pH for a NaCN and HCN Solution?
Apply the derived equation for the Weak Acid and strong base...I guess there is one dervied from that, applying the fact that the HCN will be very less ionized, whereas the NaCN will go and create a strong base thing...NaOH- nmondal

How to Identify Lewis Acids and Bases and Their Conjugate Base Formulas?
Read J.D.Lee, elementary questions, pal. Viloating the Rules I guess, but I will answer. So Acid are something with donatable H+, which means accepting e-! That is exactly Lewis Acid, anything that accepts e- is an Acid. Anything that donates e- is Base...- nmondal

The surface tension of a liquid at its boiling point is what?
At the boiling point we still have the liquid as well as have the gas/vapour. So we have 2 different state of the same object. Naturally then the rules we apply for the liquid applies at that point to...which means, the liquid still has a surface tension, but it is reduced. It does not drops...- nmondal

Undergrad Can Electromagnetism Violate Newton's Third Law?
No ...force means sum of all forces... No this is not the case. The net force on one electron must be balanced by the another. Get the concepts back again. In a system with no *external* force, the total momentum must remain conserved. And, study more conservation laws. There is never a...- nmondal

Undergrad Can Electromagnetism Violate Newton's Third Law?
It's easy! Ok, put it this way:-- Have a magnetic field and a charge running with a velocity v. Now run parallely to the charge...you see that the charge is still bending without any force! That is the *vilolation* of every law, unless you know from a moving-ref-frame the E field certainly...- nmondal
